Support — Metrical

Metrical (listed as „Metrical – Easy Unit Converter" in the App Store) converts units and currencies — on iPhone, iPad and Mac. This page answers the usual questions about the app.

For questions, problems, bugs or wishes, simply send an email to support@amapps.app. I reply as quickly as I can. It helps if you mention your device and the app version (shown in the App Store under the app).

A unit I need is missing

The app initially shows only the most common units of each category. All the others sit behind the last row of a category, which says how many more there are — for example „18 more lengths". Tapping it opens the full list, and the unit you pick there moves up into the short list.

If a unit is missing entirely, write to me — the list grows with the messages it gets.

Currency conversion

For current exchange rates the app downloads the daily rates of the European Central Bank; that needs an internet connection once. After that the rates last downloaded stay stored and keep working offline. The date of the rates in use is shown above the currency list.

No currencies appear? First check your internet connection. If the European Central Bank cannot be reached — on older system versions the connection can fail on a security certificate not yet known there — the app fetches the same rates from a secondary source. If the list still stays empty, please write to me and mention your iOS or macOS version.

All other conversions — length, weight, area, volume, speed, data, pressure, power, energy, time and temperature — work entirely offline.

Purchases & subscriptions

The app is free and converts in full. You can optionally support it with a subscription or a one-time purchase, which permanently removes the hint screen shown occasionally.

Purchases you have already made are restored with „Restore Purchase" on the purchase screen — after switching devices, for instance. Subscriptions are managed or cancelled directly with Apple: Settings ▸ [your name] ▸ Subscriptions (on the Mac in the App Store under your account).

Privacy

The app collects no personal data, shows no ads and includes no tracking. Details are in the privacy policy.
